Install the iPhone 18 Pro Max tempered glass 2 pack cleanly with alignment tips for a bubble-free fit, then keep it clear with simple care habits.
Quick answer
Use the included alignment template to position the protector precisely, then follow the steps below for a bubble-free install. Keep the second protector as a spare and clean the glass with a soft cloth to maintain clarity.
Why the alignment template changes the install
The iPhone 18 Pro Max Tempered Glass Screen Protector 2 Pack includes an alignment template that positions the glass over the screen before you press it down. This removes the guesswork that leads to crooked edges or trapped dust, which are the main reasons protectors lift or bubble later. Without a template, you would have to line up the glass by eye, and even a millimeter off can cause the edges to catch on cases or accumulate lint.
When to replace the protector instead of cleaning it
The 2 pack gives you a spare, so you can replace the protector when you notice deep scratches, chips, or edges that no longer sit flat. Cleaning can remove fingerprints and light smudges, but it cannot repair physical damage. If you see a crack or a persistent bubble that does not disappear after pressing, swap in the second protector rather than living with reduced clarity or touch sensitivity.
Step-by-step installation and care
- Prepare a clean, dust-free workspace: Wash your hands and work in a low-traffic area. Use the included cleaning wipe to remove smudges, then dry the screen with the microfiber cloth. Use the dust sticker to lift any remaining particles. A common mistake is skipping the dust sticker, which leaves specks trapped under the glass.
- Place the alignment template on the phone: Seat the template firmly against the edges of the iPhone 18 Pro Max. Make sure it is flush and does not rock. This step ensures the protector will be centered. Checkpoint: the template should not shift when you gently press it.
- Peel the backing and lower the glass: Remove the protective film from the adhesive side of the tempered glass. Hold the glass by the edges and align it with the template cutout. Lower it slowly from one end to the other, letting the adhesive contact the screen gradually. A common mistake is dropping the glass straight down, which can trap air.
- Press out bubbles from the center: Use your thumb or the microfiber cloth to press firmly from the center of the screen outward toward the edges. Work in small circles to push air bubbles out. If a bubble persists, lift the nearest edge slightly with a fingernail and re-press. Checkpoint: small bubbles may disappear within 24 hours, but large ones need immediate attention.
- Remove the alignment template and test touch: Carefully lift the template away from the phone. Test the touchscreen across all areas, including the edges. If touches feel off, the protector may not be seated correctly; lift and reapply. A common mistake is leaving the template on, which can interfere with case fit.
- Clean regularly with a soft cloth: Wipe the screen with a dry microfiber cloth to remove fingerprints and smudges. For tougher marks, lightly dampen the cloth with water or a screen-safe cleaner. Avoid abrasive materials or excessive pressure. Checkpoint: never use alcohol-based cleaners, which can degrade the oleophobic coating over time.
- Replace when damaged: Inspect the protector monthly for chips, cracks, or deep scratches. If you find damage, replace it with the second protector from the 2 pack. A damaged protector can affect touch sensitivity and clarity. Keep the spare in a clean, dry place until needed.
