Quick answer
Choose the PowerTrip 100W USB-C Cable if you already have a USB-C power source and need a rugged, high-speed cable for phones, tablets, and laptops. Pick the PowerTrip 65W GaN Charger when you need a compact, travel-ready wall charger that can power multiple devices quickly.
What each product does best
The PowerTrip 100W USB-C Cable is a reinforced cable built to handle high-speed charging and data transfer across phones, tablets, and laptops. Its Kevlar and aluminum construction makes it noticeably tougher than standard cables, so it can survive daily abuse without failing.
The PowerTrip 65W GaN Charger is a wall adapter that uses gallium nitride technology to deliver fast charging in a smaller, cooler-running package than traditional chargers. It is designed to power multiple devices and is especially useful when you are away from a desk or outlet.
Where they work together
These two accessories complement each other: the charger provides the power, and the cable delivers it to your device. If you are building a complete fast-charging setup, buying both ensures you have a reliable source and a durable connection.
That said, you may only need one depending on your current gear. If you already own a USB-C wall charger or often charge from a laptop or car, the cable alone may be sufficient. If you travel frequently and need a compact power source, the charger is the priority.
Trade-offs at a glance
- Power source matters: The 100W cable requires a compatible USB-C power source (like a laptop or wall charger) to deliver fast charging. Without one, it works at lower speeds. If you lack a USB-C power source, the cable alone won't give you fast charging.
- Charger alone isn't enough: The 65W GaN Charger provides the power but needs a cable to reach your device. If you don't have a high-quality USB-C cable, you may not get the full speed. Pair the charger with a capable cable for best results.
- Portability vs. versatility: The charger is compact and travel-ready, but it only works when you have access to an outlet. The cable is portable and works with any USB-C source, but it doesn't generate power on its own. Choose based on whether you need a power source or a durable connection.
